What's this about?

The main aim of this blog is to bring together my enthusiasm for food and my love for travelling and nature. Here you'll find some of my recipes (using alternative ingredients) as well as pics of my favourite places and travels. A healthy life style is the underlying silver thread for all my posts but they are all created with a personal touch that express my outlook..take a look at my blog to find out more!

Love for Mountains

Valle dei Mocheni & Lagorai

This walk on the amazing on the Dolomites takes from 5 to 6 hours but the strain worth the breathtaking view.

View of Sasso Rosso circa 2150 mt.

The path starts at Palu' del Fersina (above Pergine, circa 1 hour drive from Trento) and take the path E325 that takes you to Lago Erdemolo at 2020 mt  in an hour circa (see picture below).

Following the path 343 from the lake you climb up the mountain and walk along the ridge reaching Forcella delle Conelie, Sasso Rosso e Sasso Rotto at 2100-2200 mt (see pics below).

A few minutes of walk after Sasso Rotto the path continues on a gradual slope that pass by rifugio Sette Selle at 1990 mt where you can taste delicious local dishes as polenta e funghi or a sweet jam tart.

Rifugio Sette Selle.

Val di Funes- Odle Mountains

These pictures refer to the hike in Val di Funes on the Odle mountain group. Starting from the Malga Zannes you can reach these amazing mountains on well-marked trials (more info on http://www.villnoess.com/en/active/hiking/). The circular walk I did arrives to Malga Cesnago (see picture below) but all along the path you can easily divert into other paths that we'll take you to the many rifugi & malghe located among these amazing mountains (e.g. Rifugio Genova 2306 mt). No matter your training level, this area offers a wide range of walks suitable to everyone.

Nice spots at the start.

Hiking the Western Alpes

The thing that I like most when I go back to Italy is going exploring some new mountains with my family. This is where we went the last time, these stunning mountains are part of Alpi Graie in north-west Italy (Valle d'Aosta) and we hiked up to Lago di Miserin (http://www.miserinespritlibre.it). The walk is just 1 and 30 minutes long and it's pretty easy but the view is absolutely breathtaking! For more info about this walk visit http://www.lovevda.it/en/database/22/mountain-refuges/champorcher/miserin/7000860 Here are some of pics of what you'll see.

The path is surrounded but beautiful high peaks (over 2000 mt high), endless grass and snow.

View of the lake when you reach the end of this walk. From this point other paths start so if you want to reach the higher peaks around the lake you can do it from here.

Obviously, I would advice to have a  cup of tea and a delicious slice of homemade jam tart at the cozy refuge close to the lake :)

3 Cime del Bondone, Dolomites (nearby Trento)

Well, by this time you might have guessed my love for mountains. I don't consider myself as an expert hiker but I'm deeply in love with mountains and I go hiking and walking every time I can. So if you have a similar feeling of absolutely peacefulness when you reach the top, I think that you might like this post. This was one of the nicest walk I've done in Trentino (North-East Italy),  even though there are millions and you just need to pick one because the Dolomites are just fantastic! This is on Monte Bondone, not far from Trento, for more info please visit this website: http://www.visittrentino.it/en/cosa_fare/sport/dettagli/dett/tre-cime-del-bondone.
The start of the walk. There is a huge parking space so you don't have to worry about it even if you have a camping van.

Unfortunately, some clouds shadowed our walk but the panorama was still awesome!
